Throughout so many years, my perception of Mathematics has changed drastically, especially the transition time from primary school to secondary school. In primary school, Mathematics to me was just peanuts, scoring A star for every examination I got. Then, I saw Mathematics as my favourite subject and ranked Chinese my lowest, Mathematics to me then was a form of leisure; I took it as a hobby when answering. Maybe the toughest part of Mathematics in my primary school life had to be the transition between P4 & P5, there were so many new topics and new challenging questions surface, however, I still managed to keep up my standard and during this time, it was the time when I really enjoyed it – racking my brains just to get the answer. Now, really it is a totally different story. Instead now, I am beginning to hate or already has hated Mathematics and now Chinese has become my favourite subject. Why do I hate Mathematics now? There is only one reason – it is really too tough for me to cope with it, I am unable to get all the information in all at one time. Mathematics in 2 different levels is truly different, now there are so many formulas, then in primary school, did we use it at all? Besides, Mathematics now has been seen a hated subject and I am so pressurised to deliver well when doing mathematics worksheets. It seems to be a torture now, but I do hope that I will be able to regain that passion, to love Mathematics and take it as leisure instead of hatred, which is happening now. In the future, I do hope I rekindle my passion and get excellent results for this subject. But when will that ever happen? It is a great dream to see me learning more than what is required of me, it may not happen in high school, but I do hope it happens at some point of time in my life.
